About Star Guild

“We are dedicated to helping Children’s Hospital help families,
ensuring that no child in our region in need of medical care is
ever turned away.”

A few years ago, a group of women joined together to support a fellow friend whose child was being treated at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center. Their friend was fortunate to have what many would consider more than adequate health care coverage. However, as her child’s medical expenses skyrocketed, the family’s health insurance proved to be woefully inadequate. Thankfully, Uncompensated Care at Children’s Hospital helped.

It is this family’s story, along with the hundreds of other families who have been helped by Uncompensated Care, which serve as the foundation and inspiration for what is now the Star Guild. The Star Guild is dedicated to helping Children’s Hospital help families by supporting Uncompensated Care, which ensures no child in our region in need of medical care is ever turned away. This is something we feel is crucially important.

Now, a mere two years later, our circle of friends has grown to more than 70 members strong. The Star Guild ranks as one of the top contributing guilds among the nearly 500 guilds in the Children’s Hospital Guild Association. Our success is due to the personal dedication of our members, the extreme generosity of our sponsors, and of course, the overwhelming support of those attending our events.

In addition to the Season of Light Gala and Auction, the Star Guild hosts the American Girl Fashion Show®, a magical event for girls to share with their mothers, friends, and family. It’s one of only a few fundraising events for Children’s Hospital designed for children, and the only event of its kind in the Puget Sound. It has resulted in gifts totaling more than $250,000 to Children’s in just two years.
